Peace charter

What is expected of everyone here, and what moderation does or does not do.

What I commit to doing

  • Debate ideas, never people: no insults, no humiliation, no public trial.
  • Never threaten, call for violence or publish other people's personal data.
  • Tell apart what I know, what I believe and what I feel. Cite a source when I state a fact.
  • Restate the other person's position before answering.
  • Accept that a legitimate disagreement is not settled by eliminating the other person.

What moderation does

  • An automatic filter blocks insults, threats and phone numbers or email addresses in a text before publication, and says why. It can be wrong: writing it differently is enough.
  • Any content can be reported. From three reports by different people, it goes back to human review.
  • Proposals are reviewed by a person before publication. A rejection comes with a reason.
  • No sanction is decided by automation alone.

What moderation does not do

It does not remove an opinion because it is disliked. It distinguishes legitimate disagreement, factual error that can be corrected, unlawful speech and behaviour that prevents others from taking part.

In case of immediate danger to a person, contact emergency services (112): this platform does not replace emergency services.
